Interlace Project Grants

Interlace Project Grants

For visual artists living in 10-mile radius of Providence, Rhode Island

Program Description:

These grants are modest but intended to mitigate the harmful effects of emergency situations and crises, such as eviction, utility shut-off, healthcare expenses, phone or internet service interruption, and more. Interlace Emergency Grants are open to all self-identifying Providence area visual artists. Funds are dispersed monthly. Awards range from $100-$500, with a total pool of $1,250 awarded monthly. If there are less than $1,250 worth of qualified requests during a given month, funds roll over to the next month.

General information:

– Eligible applicants must live within a 10-mile radius of Providence and demonstrate need. Artists must live in the Providence area at the time of their request (artists temporarily living in other places are not eligible until they return to Providence).

– Artists may only receive one Interlace Emergency Grant per funding period (September 2022 – May 2023).

– If there are more than $1250 worth of qualified requests, grants may be for amounts less than requested, depending on availability of funds.

– The grant funds are unrestricted and include no reporting requirements.

– Interlace will not publicly announce recipients of these grants.
