About the Exhibition
Organized by guest curators María Fernanda Mancera and Gabriel Sosa, this group exhibition considers the possibilities and limits of language by exploring its capacity for worldbuilding. Wor[l]ds considers ways words take on haptic, material, and sonic forms to go beyond being a tool for communication to become spaces of encounter. The show includes works by New England-based artists Tatiana Gómez & José R. Menéndez (buena gráfica social studio™), Anna McNeary, Meg Rotzel, Diana Sánchez, and Gabriel Sosa. Their work reveals poignant scenarios where language alludes to lineages, denotes both exclusion and resistance, and fosters closeness and connection, ultimately offering a complex and nuanced understanding of translation and solidarity.
