About the Exhibition
For its annual On the Wall series, PCG presents American artist, illustrator, author, and activist Edie Fake for the artist’s first solo show in New England. Having grown up queer and trans in a Catholic household, Fake is interested in spaces where one can hold and reflect upon complexity. In his pursuit to create such a place at PCG, Fake combines inspiration culled from visits to the hermitages of Catholic monks and also by his own home in the desert. The result is a room-sized mural and custom-designed “reflection pools” that emphasize the importance of self-knowledge and contemplation.
