Installation view of "Amy Beecher: tbh" in PC-G's Hunt-Cavanagh Gallery.

Amy Beecher: tbh is a solo exhibition matching the presentational realms of comedy and theatre with sculptural and photographic installation. With this ambitious installation, Beecher positions the exhibition space as a place somewhere between pristine white-cube gallery and dark comedy club basement. The monologue of a young woman in her twenties is the soundtrack surrounding a giant, abstracted stage-set with accoutrements, creating a theatre of awkward humor and confession. Using both the drama of scale, photographic imagery, stage design and personal words, Beecher sets a scene for her protagonist to be honest with the audience.
